Helen Collins has spent 20 years serving our country. A retired Navy cryptologist, she received three Defense Meritorious Service medals, three Joint Service Commendation medals, and the Navy Commendation medal.  She also received many other medals and awards including Navy Sailor of the Year, the Global War on Terrorism medal, and sharpshooter and marksman awards.

During her naval service, she completed four overseas tours, including Embassy duty and four tours in Washington, D.C.

Helen previously worked as a background investigator, veterinary technician, laboratory technician, and retail store manager.

She received a master’s in strategic intelligence from the Joint Military Intelligence College, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Behavioral Science and Management.

Helen is passionate about serving Colorado Springs. She was elected to a four-year term on the Colorado Springs City Council in April 2013. In addition to serving Council District 4, she is on the county executive committee, and is a bonus member. She is also a board member for her homeowners' association and active in local campaigns. Her political role model is President Ronald Reagan.

Helen enjoys volunteering for charity and church work, playing keyboards, reading, and outdoor activities.
